Frequently Asked Questions

What is Intravenous (IV) Vitamin therapy?

IV Vitamin therapy is the infusion of fluid directly into a vein. It is often combined with additives such as electrolytes and micronutrients to correct imbalances, deliver medications and provide nutrients. While taking oral supplements and oral hydration is the recommended approach, less than 50% of oral supplements are absorbed and even less available for use by the body once digested. Taking the amount of supplements by mouth to reach the same levels from an IV can cause very discomforting abdominal distress. IV Vitamin Therapy allows the body to receive 100% of the nutrients and fluids. As board-certified nurse practitioners and/or licensed registered nurses, you can trust that we can administer them safely.

How does an IV work and is it safe?

"IV" stands for intravenous which means “within the vein." A tiny plastic catheter is inserted into your vein and fluid acts as a carrier to deliver electrolytes, vitamins, and nutrients directly into your venous system. IV therapy is safe and we’re trained in placement. The ingredients are supplied by reputable and accredited suppliers and pharmacies. Notify your medical provider of all allergic reactions and your medical history.

How long does an infusion take and how fast will I feel the benefits?

We do a quick intake evaluation followed by IV placement. The infusions range from 30 minutes to 1 hour and booster shots take minutes. Depending on the individual, you can feel results almost instantly or up to a few hours. Benefits can last from several days to weeks depending on the service received and the health status of the client.
